Created in memory of my father, this project explores the complex interplay of emotional distance, the passage of time, physical separation, and enduring familial bonds over the past two decades. The primary images are created using various threads, symbolizing the unbreakable connections between us. The book's pages feature interrelated images and die-cut windows that form the shape of a Chinese lantern, a symbol of joy, memories, and family ties. Through the combination of personal narratives, meaningful imagery, abstract forms, and symbolic structures, this project aims to foster a sense of shared humanity and cultural understanding.
